Who should be using the Plan Optimiser?
Section titled “Who should be using the Plan Optimiser?”The Plan Optimiser is currently for residential customers in most states of Australia. This means it is currently not available on the dashboard for:
- Sites with up to 30kw of solar
- Sites in WA and NT. There is not retailer competition in these states however we will be expanding to these areas soon to compare the different options from the one retailer
- International sites. We currently do not have any plans options available for sites in New Zealand or other countries. For New Zealand sites plan comparisons, you can visit https://www.powerswitch.org.nz/
Recommended Plan Option and My Solar Manager
Section titled “Recommended Plan Option and My Solar Manager”
These two cards give you an overview on what the Plan Optimiser says and any steps you should take. We will let you know if you are on the best plan, or if a better plan is available. Be sure to check the My Solar Manager for any advice.
If your site isn’t ready yet, it will give some information on what you need to do or when your site will be ready for a full comparison. For example:
- If you have not entered an electricity plan, it will direct you to add a new plan
- If your site, or current electricity plans, has not been active for 3 full months, it will let you know that we don’t have enough data to make a comparison. You will get a pick-a-profile option which is our Plan Optimiser lite version
-
- For sites greater than 15kw and less than 30kw please note:
- The availability of Plan Optimiser is determined based on the site size of the configuration.
- But please review new plans carefully to ensure they are suitable as some plans will be limited by maximum solar system size.

Current and Market Plans
Section titled “Current and Market Plans”
This section gives all the detail for the Plan Optimiser. See what you current plan is costing you and how that compares to other offers on the market. Some things to note:
- The 3 MTHS TOTAL values are calculated for the past 3 full calendar months. For example if it is the 20th of August, the totals represent the cost of that plan for May 1 through July 31.
- Values that are positive represent how much you would have had to pay, any negative values represent a credit that you would have received.
- The 3 Months Total doesn’t represent the cost of your last bill, it is just the cost over the last 3 calendar months (which likely won’t match the billing period of your most recent bill). Use the My Electricity Bill page instead to check your most recent bill is correct.
View Plan Details
Section titled “View Plan Details”Click on any of the market plans to view the details for that plan. This will take you to a new page with all the information about that plan. To see and edit the details of your current plan, please use the My Electricity Bill page.

- Customers are advised to confirm the Plan Optimiser results for themselves or to explore other plans by visiting the relevant retailer website and Energy Made Easy.
- Projected savings by Plan Optimiser are merely predictions based on data received from your solar installation and third-party retailers to the extent participating in the Australian Government’s ‘Energy Made Easy’ https://www.energymadeeasy.gov.au/ comparison service and for VIC states https://compare.energy.vic.gov.au/.

- To the extent Solar Analytics cannot by law so exclude its liability, then its liability is limited to reproviding the Plan Optimiser service or paying the cost of resupplying the Plan Optimiser service.
FAQ:
Why are some plans recommended in Plan Optimiser not available in my Energy Made Easy or not readily offered by energy retailer?
Plan Optimiser updates market plan recommendations weekly using data from Energy Made Easy (EME) and Victorian Energy Compare. However, we’ve observed that these government comparison sites sometimes contain outdated or incomplete information that may not match what energy retailers currently offer. For the most accurate information, we strongly recommend confirming plan details and availability directly with your chosen retailer before making any decisions.
