My Electricity Bill - How to track and verify your electricity bill?

Learn how to use the electricity bill feature on your solar analytics dashboard to track your expected electricity cost.

How do I track my current bill total?

If you are billed per calendar month then you are already set! The default time period is the month so far, so your current bill total is simply the number in the Expected Total card.

If your billing period is not the calendar month (for example every 3 months), set the time period so it starts on the first day of your billing period and finishes today. The Expected Total card will then give you your current bill total.

The Costs and Credits cards below can help explain how this total is determined. Use this to work out where you could save money!

How do I check my most recent bill is correct?

1. When you get your bill, first find the billing period and set this as the time period in the Expected Total card using the calendar icon.
2. Compare the Expected Total to the total amount on your bill (including GST). If it is the same (or within a few dollars) you are good to go! If it is significantly different, continue with a more detailed check below
3. Compare the costs breakdown in your bill to the Costs and Credits cards in the page. It is best to check both the dollar values and the energy values line up. Please note:
   • We always include GST on these values so if your bill calculates GST at the end the cost values could be out by 10% (but the energy values should still line up)
   • Some charges (like controlled load* and demand charges) are not yet included in our platform. If you have these in your bill, you can still check the rest is correct by subtracting them from the total or just checking the other breakdowns are correct
     • * if you have a controlled load and live in QLD, NSW, ACT, VIC, TAS or SA, you may be eligible to sign up for CDR in order to see your controlled load in your Solar Analytics Dashboard, and have your plan details updated automatically.
