Battery Page - Overview

Chances are the idea of a solar battery has crossed your mind already. Installing a solar battery at your home means that you will have the choice to sell your excess solar to the grid, or to store it and use it later on-site.

But how will you know if a battery is right for you? What size do you need? How much should it cost?

With just 14 day of Solar Analytics Monitoring gives us enough data to offer you a Solar Battery Calculator that is personalised to your system.

The Battery Calculator page is accessible for sites that monitor both production and consumption. Consumption only monitoring or production only monitoring does not have this feature.

You can click on the “Show me the best option”

By default, or if you specified that you care most about: “SAVING MONEY” in the Advanced Options, our recommendation is the largest battery (in terms of kWh) you can get that has a positive rate of return based on your energy usage. This assumes that your energy usage behaviour remains the same over time, and that your battery would need replacement after 15 years. If you specified that you care most about: “GRID INDEPENDENCE” in the Advanced Options, our recommendation is the battery that gives you the greatest (closest to 100%) grid independence.

FAQ: Why can’t I get an estimate of Battery Size?

Battery Calculator will need to have 14 days worth of Solar Analytics monitoring data to be able to show calculation and recommendation.
