Estimated Performance
What is estimated performance?
The estimated performance feature is designed to provide retrofitted sites without panel details the ability to get performance metrics for the solar system. We do this by using an estimation of the array details for a site based on the total kW of your system/inverter.
Why is my performance estimated?
The detailed subarray (solar panel) specifications were not provided when your site was commissioned; without this, we cannot calculate accurate performance metrics for your site. Instead, we have estimated your subarray details based on typical values for a solar system of your size.
How can I get true performance measurements?
Regardless of your estimated performance, we always prefer to power our algorithms with actual specifications for your site to know your system’s true performance. If you’re familiar with the technical specifications of your solar system and what they mean, you can configure them yourself on the My Site Page
Alternatively, please email product@solaranalytics.com, and we can configure it for you. Please include:
- Your Site ID and Name (top left of screen)
- Your Solar system quote or specification that was supplied to you by your solar installer when you purchased your system
What do my performance estimates mean?
By estimating your subarray specifications based on typical values for a system of your size, you can see how your system performs when compared to a typical system.
If your estimated performance is in the mid-range designated with a tick, you can rest assured that your system generates what we’d expect.
If, however, your estimated performance is low in the - or x range, then we suspect your system is not performing as well as it should. This could mean there that a tree shades your solar panels or some other issue. By adding your subarray configuration we can start to diagnose the problem.
Should your estimated performance be overly high, that generally means you have an unusual system configuration, best to add your specific subarray configuration as above to get a true performance assessment for your specific site.
