How to sign up with Solar Analytics?

With our Integrated offer, Solar Analytics is available to solar customers without any additional hardware or an electrician. This if you:

  • Have a Sungrow, Fronius, Goodwe, GE Solar or LG inverter with internet connection
  • Have a login to the relevant website or app for your inverter
  • Live in Australia or New Zealand
  • Plus you have a consumption meter attached to your inverter

If you don’t have a consumption meter, and you:

We can offer you our Integrated+ product

If you don’t have a consumption meter and you don’t meet the above criteria, we can currently offer you a limited feature set - you’ll be able to see your solar production and performance data only.

If you are unsure on the above, see the sections below to confirm. Otherwise, visit our Getting Started page if you are ready to sign up!

Please note that we will no longer be accepting new WW registrations from 1 July 2026, with the WW service being fully retired and no longer available for new registrations effective 30 September 2026; however, existing Wattwatcher integrated sites will continue to be able to renew their subscriptions as normal.

Installing a CATCH Power includes a free Solar Analytics subscription.

Alternatively, if you don’t meet the criteria you can get our ‘CATCH Power’ device installed by an electrician. Chat to your original solar installer or contact us to find an installer near you!

Solar Analytics is able to connect to most Fronius, Sungrow, Goodwe, GE Solar or LG inverters that have been installed in the last five or so years. For us to get data the inverter must have an internet connection, and be connected with the inverter portal / app. If you do not have internet connection to your inverter, we will not be able to sign you up.

To confirm you have a capable inverter, you should connect to your inverter portal or app. These are:

Once you have logged in, if you can see your inverter connected and data on your dashboard, you will know that you can connect to Solar Analytics.

A consumption meter is a piece of hardware that is connected to your inverter which measures the energy going into and out of your home. It enables you to view your household energy consumption on top of your solar production.

All hybrid systems (solar + battery) will have one connected, but for solar-only systems they are usually sold as an extra add-on. Solar Analytics highly recommends getting a consumption meter installed - knowing your household consumption can help you unlock far more solar savings!

If you are unsure if you have a consumption meter, please follow the steps below:

  1. Log into your inverter portal or app (see section above for links)

  2. Scroll to the live inverter reading section (where you can see how much energy you are currently producing)

  3. If you see non-zero readings for grid energy or household consumption, you have a consumption meter! See Fronius, Sungrow and Goodwe (same as GE Solar) examples below:

  4. If you cannot find a live energy flow section with readings for grid or household energy then you do not have a consumption meter connected. See examples without a consumption meter below:

To access our full suite of features, you will need a consumption meter or to meet the Integrated+ criteria outlined above. Otherwise, you’ll only be able to access a limited feature set.

What is different about the limited feature set (without consumption data)?

Section titled “ What is different about the limited feature set (without consumption data)?”

If you have a compatible inverter but not a consumption meter, we cannot offer the full Solar Analytics experience to you at this stage. However, we can still sign you up and give you access to what we can.

If you sign up with the limited feature set you will still get:

  • A simple day-by-day and aggregated view of your solar energy production
  • Our 100% True Performance feature so you can be sure your solar system is producing the energy it is meant to be!
  • A simplified Plan Optimiser which shows and ranks electricity plans available in your area based on the energy usage profile you select

Unfortunately we cannot offer some features without consumption data. These include:

  • Daily and aggregated views of your household energy usage so you can understand how to self-consume more of your solar energy
  • Analysis and tracking of your electricity bills
  • Our battery calculator, which helps you understand if a battery is right for you
  • Full plan comparison in Plan Optimiser - to determine if your current plan is right for you
  • Tracking exactly how much money your solar has saved you

If you are okay with the limited experience, you can still sign up to our free trial. Otherwise, talk to your solar installer about adding a consumption meter.
