What is Integrated+ (CDR)?

Consumer Data Right (CDR) is an Australian initiative that grants consumers the right to easily access their data, enabling them to have more control and make informed decisions when comparing products and services. Initially introduced in the banking sector, CDR has now been extended to the Energy Sector as well. Learn more about CDR for the Energy Sector here.

So, what does it mean for you in relation to Solar Analytics?

We’re using CDR to power a new product called Integrated+. From Thursday 29th June, all eligible Solar Analytics users will see the option to add consumption data for their site via CDR. Eligible customers are those who:

• Are Integrated
  • Have Solar Analytics’ Integrated product, powered by Fronius, Sungrow, Goodwe, GE, or LG inverters
• Are PV-only
  • They must not have consumption data already
• Are in the National Electricity Market (NEM) states
  • That’s Queensland, New South Wales, ACT, Victoria, Tasmania, South Australia
• Are with a supported retailer

Solar Analytics have undertaken a lengthy process to become an Accredited Data Recipient, so we are authorised to receive energy data for customers who have provided their consent. The CDR rules devised by Treasury specify that we cannot expose any CDR or CDR derived data to anyone other than the site owner, which means that you will continue to see a PV-only site (production, performance and pick-a-profile Plan Optimiser) after the customer has provided their consent, and you won’t see any consumption - or consumption derived data - on the Dashboard or in data downloads - that includes Plan Optimiser, battery calculator, savings, electricity bill etc. 

We are lobbying for the ability to share CDR Insights with retailers but we’re limited in our ability to drive change.

What will your customers see?

Customers who have provided their consent will see a fully featured Dashboard, although there’s a couple of key differences between a regular Integrated (with consumption) site, and an Integrated+ site:

• Consumption data will be one day behind, although PV data is live.
• 80% of sites will get 5-minute consumption data, with the remainder getting 30-minute data.

Great, how do I commission a site?

1. Commission the site as normal, using the inverter portal and registering the site with Solar Analytics, or via our Auto Connect process.
2. The site owner will then need to log into their Dashboard and add consent by hitting the ‘Add consumption data’ button and following the prompts.

After they have provided their consent, they’ll be redirected back to their Dashboard and will be notified that their consumption data will take ten minutes to populate. Once it does, their Dashboard will update as per the below.
