Wattwatchers with Solar Analytics FAQs

“Can I continue to use Solar Analytics in the same way I have previously?”

Section titled ““Can I continue to use Solar Analytics in the same way I have previously?””

Due to changing circumstances, from 1 July 2026, we will no longer support the commissioning of new sites with the Wattwatcher Classic solution. Where WIFi is available, the CATCH Control is our recommended solution.
Existing sites with Solar Analytics and Wattwatcher branded devices will continue to operate and receive support as usual. Existing sites can continue with their subscriptions and renewals, and all sites will continue to receive Solar Analytics dashboard and support, and warranty for Solar Analytics branded hardware.

“If I add Solar Analytics, what support level can I expect?”
Same as current. Solar Analytics will support installers, retailers and customers who add our subscription services with commissioning, diagnostics and support on our software. Hardware support is provided by relevant hardware manufacturers.

“If I integrate Wattwatchers or inverter hardware and a Solar Analytics subscription, who do I call for hardware or warranty support?”
Solar Analytics will continue to support customers who choose our subscription. In the event of any diagnosed hardware or warranty issues, we will help you to contact the relevant manufacturer.

“Does this mean Solar Analytics is walking away from 4G services?”
To the contrary! Solar Analytics remains committed to 4G services via Wattwatchers hardware. We are simply focusing exclusively on software design, sales and support.

“Will Wattwatchers hardware prices change?”
Pricing will be announced shortly by Wattwatchers and Supply Partners and is unlikely to change.

“Will the Terms and Conditions of Trade change?”
Solar Analytics will revise our Terms and Conditions shortly to reflect our software only offers. Wattwatchers and Supply Partners can provide you with their Terms and Conditions for hardware offers.

“Will stock holdings or shipment times change?”
Wattwatchers and Supply Partners are both highly experienced and proficient at logistics and shipping. Please discuss all your hardware needs with them.

“What happens to my existing Solar Analytics customers and sites?”
Solar Analytics will continue to support all existing customers under the terms and conditions that were applicable at that time, including Solar Analytics branded hardware, subscriptions, LGC reporting, custom displays etc.

“Why has the Lifetime subscription been retired?”
Our Lifetime offer for small systems has been retired because it is no longer viable.

“What happens if I sell a system with a Lifetime sub. and it’s not installed until 2023?”  Unfortunately, from January 1 2023 our system will only provide the option for 5-year subscriptions. We recommend you advise those customers that our offer has changed or, consider commissioning our hardware prior to the December 31st 2022 cut-off date.”

“Why has the PPA metering service been retired?”
We have retired our PPA metering subscription due to low demand. Wattwatchers does provide PPA solutions directly.

“Can I still do LGC monitoring?”
Yes, there is no change to the eligibility of hardware for LGC monitoring or manual data downloads for solar systems less than 750MWh per annum. However for solar systems greater than 750MWh per annum, we have retired our support for Modbus or 6M+One devices registration. We have also retired our support for reporting service due to low demand.

If you require further information for a different format or any other clarification, we suggest you to contact Clean Energy Regulator (CER) this way you can double check on the requirement for LGC reporting submission.
